ਚਮਕੀਲਾ–ਅਮਰਜੋਤ ਦਾ ਕਤਲ ਕਿਵੇਂ ਹੋਇਆ ? ਜਗ੍ਹਾ ਕਿਹੜੀ ਸੀ ? ਕਿਹੜਾ ਪਿੰਡਾ ਸੀ ਜਿੱਥੇ ਇਹ ਦੁੱਖਦਾਇਕ ਘਟਨਾ ਵਾਪਰ ਗਈ ? ਕੌਣ ਸਨ ਗੋਲੀਆਂ ਚਲਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੇ ? ਇਸ ਬਾਰੇ ਤਾਂ ਤੁਸੀਂ ਆਮ ਹੀ ਯੂ–ਟਿਊਬ ਤੇ ਇਕ ਨਹੀਂ ਅਨੇਕਾਂ ਚੈਨਲਾਂ ਤੇ ਦੇਖਦੇ ਆਏ ਹੋ। ਗੱਲ ਕਰਦੇ ਹਾਂ ਚਮਕੀਲੇ ਦੇ ਕਤਲ ਨਾਲ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਗਾਇਕੀ ਨੂੰ ਕਿੰਨੀ ਕੁ ਢਾਅ ਲੱਗੀ।ਕੀ ਇਸ ਘਟਨਾ ਦਾ ਕਿਸੇ ਗਾਇਕ ਜਾਂ ਖਾੜਕੂ ਜਥੇਬੰਦੀ ਨੇ ਵਿਰੋਧ ਕੀਤਾ ਸੀ ਜਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ? ਕੀ ਚਮਕੀਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਮਾਰਨ ਨਾਲ ਲੱਚਰ ਗੀਤ ਬੰਦ ਹੋਏ ਜਾਂ ਨਹੀਂ ? ਚਮਕੀਲਾ–ਅਮਰਜੋਤ ਵਾਲਾ ਦੌਰ ਦੁਗਾਣਾ ਗਾਇਕੀ ਦਾ ਦੌਰ ਸੀ। ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਬੜਾ ਹੀ ਚਾਅ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਚਮਕੀਲਾ–ਅਮਰਜੋਤ ਦਾ ਅਖਾੜਾ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਦੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਜਾਂ ਲਾਗਲੇ ਕਿਸੇ ਪਿੰਡ ਵਿਚ ਲੱਗਣਾ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ। ਊਹ ਆਪਣੇ ਘਰ ਦੇ ਸਾਰੇ ਕੰਮ–ਕਾਰ ਛੱਡ ਕੇ ਚਮਕੀਲਾ ਦੇਖਣ ਚਲੇ ਜਾਂਦੇ ਸੀ। ਅਖਾੜੇ ਵਿਚ ਮਾਹੌਲ ਬਹੁਤ ਹੀ ਸ਼ਾਂਤ ਹੁੰਦਾ ਸੀ ਕਿਉਂਕਿ ਆਪਣੀ ਗਾਇਕੀ ਨਾਲ ਚਮਕੀਲਾ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਨੂੰ ਕੀਲ ਕੇ ਬਿਠਾ ਦਿੰਦਾ ਸੀ।ਉਦੋਂ ਲੋਕ ਸਿਰਫ਼ ਚਮਕੀਲੇ ਨੂੰ ਹੀ ਉਡੀਕਦੇ ਹੁੰਦੇ ਸੀ। ਕਲਾਕਾਰ ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਸਨ, ਦੁਗਾਣਾ ਜੋੜੀਆਂ ਵੀ ਬਹੁਤ ਸਨ ਪਰ ਅੱਜ ਉਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਪੁਰਾਣੇ ਬਜ਼ੁਰਗਾਂ ਨਾਲ ਗੱਲ ਕਰੀਏ ਤਾਂ ਬਹੁਤੇ ਤੁਹਾਨੂੰ ਇਕ ਹੀ ਜਵਾਬ ਦੇਣਗੇ, 'ਚਮਕੀਲਾ ਚਮਕੀਲਾ ਹੀ ਸੀ।' ਹੋਰ ਵੀ ਕਲਾਕਾਰ ਦੇਖਦੇ ਰਹੇ ਹਾਂ ਪਰ ਜੋ ਨਜ਼ਾਰਾ ਚਮਕੀਲਾ–ਅਮਰਜੋਤ ਦੇ ਅਖਾੜੇ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਣ ਦਾ ਆਉਂਦਾ ਸੀ ਉਹ ਗੱਲ ਹੋਰ ਕਿਸ

ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਲੋਕ ਗਾਇਕ ਸੁਰਿੰਦਰ ਛਿੰਦਾ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਦੋਗਾਣਾ ਤੇ ਸੋਲੋ ਗਾਇਕੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਬਹੁਤ ਨਾਂ ਕਮਾਇਆ ਹੈ।ਉਸ ਦੇ ਸੰਗੀਤਕ ਉਸਤਾਦ ਜਸਵੰਤ ਭੰਵਰਾ ਜੀ ਸਨ। ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਛਿੰਦੇ ਦੇ ਦੁਗਾਣੇ ਰਿਕਾਰਡ ਹੋਏ।ਉਸ ਦੌਰ ਵਿੱਚ ਦੋਗਾਣਾ ਗਾਇਕੀ ਦਾ ਪੂਰਾ ਬੋਲਬਾਲਾ ਸੀ।ਲੋਕ ਅਖਾੜਿਆਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਗਾਇਕ ਦੇ ਨਾਲ ਆਈ ਸੁਹਣੀ ਗਾਉਣ ਵਾਲੀ ਨੂੰ ਦੇਖਣ ਆਉਂਦੇ ਸੀ।ਉਹ ਦੁਗਾਣੇ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਗੀਤਕਾਰਾਂ ਦੇ ਲਿਖੇ ਹੋਏ ਸਨ ਜਿਨ੍ਹਾਂ ਵਿੱਚੋਂ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਪੇਂਡੂ ਸਭਿਆਚਾਰ ਦੀ ਝਲਕ ਦੇਖਣ ਨੂੰ ਮਿਲਦੀ ਹੈ। ਦੁਗਾਣਾ ਗਾਇਕੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਰਿੰਦਰ ਛਿੰਦਾ ਦੀ ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪਹਿਲਾਂ ਜ਼ਿਆਦਾ ਪਛਾਣ ਉਦੋਂ ਬਣੀ ਜਦੋਂ ਉਸ ਨੇ ਆਪਣੇ ਸ਼ਾਗਿਰਦ ਵਿਸ਼ਵ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਮਹਾਨ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਲੋਕ ਗਾਇਕ 'ਅਮਰ ਸਿੰਘ ਚਮਕੀਲਾ' ਦੇ ਲਿਖੇ ਦੋਗਾਣੇ ਗਾਏ। ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਸੁਰਿੰਦਰ ਛਿੰਦਾ ਨੇ ਸੁਰਿੰਦਰ ਸੋਨੀਆ ਨਾਲ ਰਲ ਕੇ ਚਮਕੀਲੇ ਦਾ ਲਿਖਿਆ 'ਨੀ ਮੈਂ ਡਿੱਗੀ ਤਿਲਕ ਕੇ, ਛੜੇ ਜੇਠ ਨੇ ਚੁੱਕੀ..... ਤੂੰ ਚੱਕ ਛੜੇ ਜੇਠ ਨੇ ਬੁੱਕਲ ਦੇ ਵਿੱਚ ਲੈ ਲਈ' ਦੁਗਾਣਾ ਰਿਕਾਰਡ ਕਰਵਾਇਆ ਸੀ। ਇਹ ਦੁਗਾਣਾ ਜਦੋਂ ਮਾਰਕੀਟ ਵਿਚ ਆਇਆ ਉਸ ਸਮੇਂ ਸਾਰੇ ਪੰਜਾਬ ਵਿਚ ਤਰਥੱਲੀ ਮਚ ਗਈ। ਲੋਕਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਸੁਰਿੰਦਰ ਛਿੰਦੇ ਦਾ ਚੰਗਾ ਨਾਂ ਬਣ ਗਿਆ।ਇਸ ਗੀਤ ਨਾਲ ਚਮਕੀਲੇ ਦਾ ਨਾਂ ਵੀ ਗੀਤਕਾਰੀ ਵਿੱਚ ਚਮਕ ਗਿਆ। ਸੁਰਿੰਦਰ ਛਿੰਦੇ ਨੇ ਪੰਜਾਬੀ ਫਿਲਮਾਂ ਵਿੱਚ ਵੀ ਕਈ ਪ੍ਰਸਿੱਧ ਗੀਤ ਗਾਏ। ਪਰ ਉਸ ਦਾ ਸਭ ਤੋਂ ਪ੍ਰਸ

Amar Singh Chamkila, the eminent lyricist and singer of the twentieth century, struggled a lot in the early days to become a popular figure. Due to poverty at home, he had to do many jobs to support the family. Although he could read less, but he had a passion for singing since childhood. At an early age, singing in plays in nearby villages, writing songs, taking Surinder Shinda as his teacher and going to the side with many famous artists of that time, Chamkila's enthusiasm for singing increased. When he got time, he used to sing a couple of songs on the stage.
